"Putter" is my meant to be dog.  She is my first cattle dog and the foundation to my breeding program.  She finished her championship begrudgingly despite an inept handler like myself, but she did not think the show ring was her style so she was retired.  She was raised by our Labrador Retriever (Bunker) and has taken on a Labrador personality.  While our lab taught her how to have proper etiquette on the golf course, she makes it her personal vendetta to rid the course of every last goose. Yet it amazes me how laid back she is.  To all  folks new to the breed, I make sure they understand that she is not the norm, but the exception to the cattle dog rules.  Though, true to her breed, she has the intelligence and agility that made our lab look like a class clown.  She will most likely be retired from the breeding shed and is currently seeking her Rally Obedience Titles while taking time off of both two and four legged babysitting duties.

Health Clearances: PRA B. BAER Bilateral. Full Dentition, PennHIP (yet to be done)

Chip is the product of Putty's first breeding. He is a impressive boy who loves to show. He earned his AKC Championship at 18 months old, taking the previous summer off so he can compete in the Bred by Exhibitor Class at the 2005 National Specialty under judge Col. Joe Purkhiser. He made the cut in a large class up against some of the top breeders in the country. He earned all his points through Bred By classes making him a very special champion to me. Chip can get down to business in the ring while being a goofball outside of it. Its not an uncommon site to see a freshly shampooed Chip wiggling around on his back outside the ring right before his class. He has quite a bit of herding drive but he has yet to learn not to herd the mowing crew at the course. Due to the time constraints of our young family, he has yet to harness his true potential.

Annie is a litter mate to our Chip. She is co-owned and fully loved by Karen Havens from South Windsor, CT. Annie is such a sweetheart. She has truly taken on mama Putter's personality. Such a love to anyone who walks in the room. She breezed through her show career earning her AKC Championship at 11 months old. Shortly after, we took her to the National Specialty in Lebanon, Tennessee and she won her 12-18 month age group class in the Properties Class under Judge Dennis Hayward. She then went on to win the highly coveted title of Best Headed Bitch. We are enormously proud of this girl and what a fine example she has set forth for our breed. Once she passes her health tests, she will take over where Putter leaves off.

Guiness - our black sheepGuinness is Mark's boy acquired from Hiflight Labradors. He has big shoes to fill after the loss of our previous yellow Labrador, Bunker. Guinny serves as Mark's Public Relations Agent at the course. How long can a golfer remain upset when he is patting the head of a nice calm Labrador Retriever?

No, he doesnt care for chasing geese but he keeps the golf cart seat really warm. For all you ladies drooling over him, sorry, but The Guinnster doesnt have the equipment to perform anymore (wink wink).

If you are wondering where this name ties into our theme of golf related names Mark's answer is this....after playing 18 holes, where do you go? Well to the clubhouse of course for a pint of Guinness!!!
